wickure. >> reporter: this dramatic video captures the moment turkish crews found life among so much death. they pulled a two--week-old baby girl out of a collapsed apartment building, alive. rescuers in turkey cheered as paramedics rushed her to an awaiting ambulance. the baby was found nearly 48 hours after the earthquake hit. azra's mother was still trapped, pinned next to a sofa. her grandmother was also buried in the wreckage. as doctors treated the baby, rescuers spent hours digging through rubble to try to save her mother, and they did, carrying the 25-year-old out on the stretcher.

soon after they freed her 73- year-old grandmother too. the rescues came in one of the hardest hit quake zones where hope is fadingment after saving three generations of the same family, crews are not giving up. >> eastern turkey was rocked by a 5-point magnitude after shock later today. jury selection continues in the high profile trial of a woman accused of killing a coworker in a clothing shop and tried to cover it up. >> prosecutors and defense attorneys are narrowing down prospective jurors in hope of finding a panel. she's a-- accused of killing her coworker. she claimed they were attacked by robbers, but prosecutors said she killed her after finding her stealing clothing. only a few out of the 149

being on board. more than 6 years after phillip parker, jr. was murdered on a prison bus, his family was awarded damages. he was strangled despite four correction officers on board. >> just to hear them say phillip parker junior $10 million for his pain and suffering, it's always been about my son, nothing else for me. and the guards had to sit and look me in the eye and explain to me why they did nothing to help my son. >> when john's was convicted of murder, the judge said if state employees had been doing their jobs properly, mr. parker would not have been killed. he found johns was not segregated on the bus and not properly restrained. and he found that officers were sleeping and reading. wjz has investigated the murder from the beginning and covered

character witnesses for curry. curry is charged with using his political power to -- a grocery store chain. he denies the allegations. a showdown with antiwall street protesters. they refused to leave a plaza in oakland, california. more on the confrontation with ended with dozens of arrests. >> reporter: oakland city hall, dozens of antiwall street demonstrators who refused to leave the makeshift camp were arrested early in the morning. see you later. >> this is so degrading. >> most were taken peacefully, but police used tear gas. >> we were being pelted with rocks and bottles and other kitchen utensils. >> protesters began demonstrating weeks ago, setting up 150 tents. >> reporter: the protesters

were on the outside and the police on the inside. in the beginning they supported the occupation, but that changed as the conditions deteriorated. >> the park was physically damaged on daily bases by graffiti and damage. they cooked with open flames. >> the condition here is fine. what they're saying, sanitation issues and stuff, as far as i'm concerned, all of that was false. >> with the protesters gone, cleanup crews moved in to remove tent, clothes, and debris left behind. the city says demonstrators will be allowed back, but nobody will be permitted to camp out overnight. >> police also made about a half dozen arrests while clearing out a smaller protest site not far away. winter is just around the corner, and that means turning up the heat in your home. however, your bills may be less than last winter. the forecast is for an average

it's happened again, a potentially dangerous animal escapes from a zoo. this time it happens in texas where a chimp gets loose from her cage at the dallas zoo. the wilds of africa exhibit was

closed and she was tranquilized. an unbelievable story out of michigan where police find millions of dollars worth of cocaine in the truck and the age of the suspect is shocking. he's 87. he was pulled over from improper lane use. a drug sniffing dog found blocks of cocaine worth nearly $300. sharp says he was forced at gunpoint to transport the drugs. the infamous boston mobster arrested this year after years on the run. some big names are working on it, but not everyone is pleased with this idea. hollywood hunks say the wheels are in motion for their film on boston mobster whitety boldster. matt damon said they're gathering ideas. >> there's no better guys to do it than this one. they're from this area and as

departed from wall street. all the markets are down big today. the dow was down 207 points. the s&p off 25 and the nasdaq down 61. let's go to new york where alexis christoforous is tonight. shes that cbs update. >> reporter: stocks dropped after a mixed bag of corporate earnings reports. solutions to the european debt crisis were dashed after a meeting between finance managers was canceled. key parts may not be ready in time for the summit. the lowest level since the recession in 2009. consumers turned more pessimistic this month and the outcome looks break. shares of netflix -- plunged more than d%. many customers were outraged when the company drastically

have him vaccinated against the human pap low mouse virus. now a government panel is recommending all 11 and 12-year- old boys receive the vaccine. the shots are already recommended for girls and young women because hpv increases the risk of cervical cancer. >> it can be transmitted from girls to boys and from boys to girls easily. it's led to the recommendations that the boys also receive the vaccination. >> hpv is a very common infection. most people don't even know they have it because the virus rarely causes symptoms. plus, a virus can be deadly. it's responsible for 70% of cervical cancer. there's growing evidence that it can increase the risk of mouth, anal cancer and it can increase the woman's chance of having a heart attack or

stroke. the key is for boys and girls to become vaccinated before they become sexually active. >> why would we want them to get diseases that can be eradicated. >> obviously she's trying to do what's best for me, and i think it was the right decision. >> the cdc is expected to approve the panel's recommendation and then most insurance companies would pay for boys to get vaccinated too. >> since hpv shots were recommended for girls five years ago, only a third have been fully vaccinated. at it again, lindsay lohan's dad is arrested, what he's accused of doing. i could hear them. they didn't hear me. then on the third day i started hallucinating. >> how a man survived being lost in the canadian wilderness for ten days.

beautiful day, bernadette. last few days of october. >> these are the days to take advantage of. it's picture perfect out there. november is right around the corner. the weather is going to start to turn. the average is down to 64 degrees. today we were above average, coming in at 67 so far today. take a look right now. it is 67 degrees in baltimore. you can see 67 also in d.c. everyone in this picture is in the 60s already this afternoon. we may get another degree or two before this starts to drop. the winds turning around to the northwest as the front passed through yesterday. they're going to start to turn to the south as another front moves our way. now, moving in our direction, way back in here. the thing with this is it's got a lot of chilly air behind it. originally we're going to see the clouds come in and then we're going to see the rain start to pick up and eventually that chilly air move our way. it works out like this. today, beautiful one out there.

tonight, still pretty quiet and here comes the front. we're going off to around 70 degrees. then the rain breaks up probably tomorrow night. it will continue on and off until thursday. the front tries to pull out on friday. when it does, here comes that cooler air. big hint on the temperatures. that's going to stick around as another storm moves our way. the next storm we're watching is going to be like a nor easter. watch to see how close it is to the carlos -- coastline to see how much we're going to get. as we're talking about chilly air coming our way, down to the south we do still have hurricane season. this is hurricane rina. winds, 104 miles per hour. it's slowly drifting off to west-northwest at 3 miles per hour. the thing with this is it will eventually sort of border the yucatan peninsula. before it gets to this point, this could become a major

hurricane, that means category 3 or higher. then it's starting to make the turn off to the east and we'll watch it as it heads off to the east as a tropical storm at this point. forecast models do the same thing, take it to the peninsula and take it to the curve. what happens that have is the question we'll keep it updated on. small craft advisories in effect until 6:00 tonight. tonight, clear to partly cloudy, we're going down into the 40s once again and tomorrow we go back up to around 70 degrees, but the clouds come in and we could see rain by tomorrow night. then we take a big hit in the temperatures for the 2nd half of the week. enjoy the rest of today and tomorrow and get those jackets back out. >> that looks like that's the order of the day. >> yes, it is. >> thank you. well advised. don't miss tonight at 10:00, unforgettable, followed by the news. now, because of the game last

34-year-old donald joseph brown of hanover is now charged with kidnapping and violating a protection order. he took his 7-year-old son from a bus stop on sunday. they caught up with the pair in annapolis. back on american soil, a researcher is in baltimore getting the emergency help she needs. we're told about her long journey here. from the south pole to dellas international airport, now to john hopkins hospital. while working at the national science foundation for the last year, doctors believe 58-year- old renee nicole -- suffered a stroke in august. she thought she could leave to receive better medical treatment until a memo came out changing that around. we're not going to get you out. we're going to let you wait until the first scheduled flight. >> reporter: she waited for two

month as her language deteriorated. she was told the weather made it too dangerous for a rescue. survival. for ten days he was lost in these mountains with no food, no bottled water, and no cell phone. a search effort was launched after his car was found here, abandoned. the problem was he was nowhere close to where he started his hike. >> i could hear them. they couldn't hear me. on the third day i started hallucinating. >> they searched in air as well as by foot. >> i'm sure he saw them. he could not raise an alert. maybe he couldn't yell because he was so dehydrated. he had writtennen his forearm, when you find my body, this is who i am. he had actually resigned that he was going to be -- that was going to be it for him. >> another day out here and searchers say he would have died. late yesterday afternoon a member of the search and rescue team who just happened to be hiking on her own time game upon him. so first thing this morning, a

flood waters threatening to swamp thailand's capital city. it's a race of time as many areas are under water. residents in bangkok are warned to be prepared. they're preparing sandbags. more than hundred people have been killed since july during the country's worst flooding in

decades. the body of moammar gadhafi is now in its final resting place. we have more on the burial. >> reporter: unmarked grave, that's where the body of moammar gadhafi is now laid to rest, so spokesmen in misrata say there was a modest ceremony as gadhafi and one of his sons and defense minister were handed over for burial. he served 42 years. libyan leaders say they will not reveal the location of the grave because they don't want it vandalized or turned into a shrine. government officials say now that gadhafi is gone, the country will shift to a democracy. searching for lisa irwin, it's the third week and right now her parents remain silent. >> reporter: you thought you were getting paid to avoid local recorders. >> when jeremy and -- arrived

back to the house. they were asked questions. >> why won't you talk to us? >> because we're grieving. >> that grief they openly shared with supporters during a vigil last night for the missing 11-month-old. they were all wearing t-shirts with her picture that read kidnapped across the front. the parents' local attorney said yesterday that the massive search by the police and fbi was all for show. saying after 17 hours she would have expected investigators to walk away with a lot more than they did if, in fact, a crime had been committed there. kansas city police say they don't want to comment on accusations. right now they're keeping the focus on baby lisa and following up on tips and leads. they say they have not had full cooperation of the parents since october 6th, nearly three weeks ago. >> and so far there is no word on any suspects and no arrests have been made. thousands of volunteers are

helping to find a 9-year-old autistic boy who went missing in virginia. it's in its third day. he wandered away in the battlefield park, the 88-acre park is not fenced in. so officials are concerned he could have wandered off the property. >> we know where he's not. we know we have to broaden our search area. >> the public was invited to help with this search today. he does not speak. he has blond hair and blue eyes, and that's a photo of him. imagine being 29 years old and never hearing your own voice. a texas woman recently became an internet star after her husband posted video of her hearing her own voice for the first time. >> reporter: this is the you tube video that instantly made sara a star. >> i was laughing because here
